Angels For Elders Mission, Inc., is a non-profit organization formed in 2002. It is associated with the already well-known and established in-home caregiver service agency Angels For Elders, Inc., which has been in business since 1999. Based in Wimberley, the heart of the Hill Country, our mission is to help elders remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible, and to expand rural services.
Angels Mission non-profit activities include:
Angel Shuttle -- a partnership with the Wimberley Senior Citizens Assocations, Inc., begun in January 2005. Angel Shuttle provides a way for senior citizens to get around if they cannot drive or do not have a car. The Shuttle provides vehicles with volunteer drivers for door-to-door service to San Marcos on Tuesdays and in the Wimberley area on Wednesdays. A CARTS-like service, we request a small donation from riders, if able to pay. Transportation is provided to Austin and San Antonio for medical appointments with 7 days’ notice. Recycling of medical assist devices -- donations of walkers, canes, crutches, wheelchairs (regular and electric), raised toilet seats, bedside commodes, electric hospital beds, etc., are accepted and then made available to those newly in-need. No need to buy them when you can borrow them.
In order to support these non-profit community projects, financial support is needed from the community. If you are able to make a contribution enabling our efforts, or to volunteer a few hours per month, your help would be greatly appreciated. Memorial donations are accepted and make a lasting tribute to your loved one.
