The first annual Hays County Memory Walk will be held in San Marcos, Texas on October 25, 2008. Angels for Elders is a corporate sponsor of the walk and will be forming a walking team. This year our team goal is to raise $5000.00 for the Memory Walk.

- Texas ranks 3rd among the 50 states in the number of estimated Alzheimer’s cases (more than 200,000). That number is projected to more than double to around 470,000 by 2025.
- According to a Gallup Poll commissioned by the national Alzheimer’s Association, 1 in 10 has a family member with Alzheimer’s and 1 in 3 knows someone with the disease.
- One in 10 Americans over age 65 and nearly half over 85 are affected with Alzheimer’s. Half of all nursing home patients in the U.S. have Alzheimer’s.
